I remember the buzz when the first Sex and the City (2008) movie came out – business analysts were shocked! that adult women would flock to movies made for them. Between animated flicks (mainly) for children, and blockbusters like The Dark Knight, it seemed women were a slight afterthought who were expected to only be interested in romantic comedies.
