Brown paper chrome books wrapped up with string

A hundred dollars doesn’t go as far as it used to – but this season, thanks to Google’s partnership with a nonprofit, it can go far enough to change young lives.

According to Google’s blog, schools can now purchase as well as register online to be considered for $99 donated chrome books. The price includes “hardware, management and support.” Google is working with Donors Choose, an “online charity that connects directly to public classes on need” and schools can register to be considered for donations.

Many of us take computers with Internet connections for granted- I blog about digital media and my audience demographic by definition has access. Here’s a great opportunity to make a difference, regardless of your feelings towards the google empire. The chrome book is holiday priced at $99, but access for underprivileged children is priceless and you can be a part of that!
