UNofficially fall

Happy Labor day weekend, the unofficial end of summer since 1993 (when I had to go back to school in the fall. While truly an American experience – perhaps even a “growing up in Northern Virginia” experience – nothing says fall like school books, the changing colors on the trees along the George Washington Parkway, signs for Homecoming dances…I digress. It’s a little pointless to put a date on a calendar and say this is when the seasons change from fall to winter or winter to spring. Before I moved to lovely southern California that’s pretty much warm year round, I loved the first days of summer when it was warm enough to go to happy hour at my favorite rooftop bar.

My point is this – while summer might be over in terms of beach parties, lots of sunlight, and concerts, it’s not ACTUALLY over till the middle of September. A fact that J. Crew seems to have forgotten. Screen Shot 2014-08-29 at 12.45.39 PM
